Theatre

Laminarie theatre group has been founded in 1994 and it has its headquarters in Bologna, Italy. The group’s mission aims at discovering new ways to communicate within the avant-garde theatre. The group has a mature audience production line and a young audience production line. For well over ten years the company has developed its own character, which borders with architecture and visual arts, cinema, literatures. The final works have been performed at festivals, in theatres and hosted by domestic and international institutions.

 

A DIFFERENT MOULD

Many of Laminarie’s theatre productions can be collected under the Lives of a different mould, that enlighten the richness of a path followed by the company in the last fifteen years.

Laminarie carried out an extensive research over some “exemplar figures” that have been inspiring for our theatre practice and our lives. They are not just plain theatre shows with a biographical intent, but more comprehensive projects composed by several steps and diffent results such as lectures, videos, articles, journeys.

ITINERANT PERFORMANCES

Laminarie’s itinerant productions are especially realized in non theatrical venues such as palaces, gardens, squares, libraries and so on. They are very flexible shows that can be easily adapted to different situations. Every show is a unique occasion and it’s realized in the form of a site-specific performance. A useful formula consists in the realization of a theatre laboratory (1 to 3 days) that involves local musicians, actors and artists in the show. There are several possible itinerant options, depending on the organizers’ needing and the venue’s characteristics
